scarter's blog

Thank you for checking out my blog!  I will use this space to share some of the innovative and exciting things going on at Buckhorn Elementary, Bluestone High, and Park View High, my assigned schools.  The 2009-2010 school year has started off with a bang and promises to be very busy!

If you have not seen Wordle, you have to check it out!! I it is SO much fun. It would be a great activity to do with your students as they list key words on any concept and you will have a wonderful picture to display in your classroom. Have FUN!!! http://www.wordle.net

Ms. Parris' student, Trey Moore, created a wonderful Photo Story on Macbeth. He used wonderful transitions and music. To stay within fair use guidelines, only 30 seconds of the video is being shown on this blog. We are thinking Trey has a future in video production!

Ms. Parris' students used their creativity to re-enact Shakespear's Macbeth.  The students used pictures from the Internet and Photo Story to create digital presentations.  The presentations were wonderful!  Thank you for using this technology to engage your students Ms. Parris!

This is my daughter saying the pledge. She is three years old. I used Movie Maker with pictures from the Internet. She learned this for the inauguration.

Mrs. Harris' class was treated to a goo, goo, googly party!  Mrs. Harris' Account students have been hard at work creating their own business plan through Google Docs.  Students are using the spreadsheet and presentation applications in Google Docs.  The students worked with and got feedback from students in Oregon!  Tese students are utilizing their 21st Century skills by collaborating, creating, and sharing their work through Google Docs!  Go, go, go, Google!

I had the BEST time with Mrs. Corum's Kindergarten class.  The students were SO well behaved and performed their lines beautifully.  Thanks for Mrs. Corum and her class for all their hard work!
